Apr 9, 2018C., went home to the glory of Heaven and the promise of eternal life with his Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018.He was born on April 6, 1944, in Huntington, to Riley and Shella McAboy.He, with his wife, was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Charleston. He was a devoted father who enjoyed helping others, as he never knew a stranger. He loved working on automobiles, reading and watching Westerns, listening to gospel music and eating sweets. He had a heart of gold and loved a good laugh.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia "Pat" McAboy.He is survived by loving children, Steven T. McAboy of Wilmington, N.C., Maria Clark and husband Roger of Lumberton, N.J., and Karen Lindstrom and husband Chris of Belmont, N.C.; and five grandchildren: Kaylea, Ashlea and Natalea Clark, and Mason and Madison Lindstrom.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Paula Napier officiating. The burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
